Product Overview

The amount of data is growing everywhere and it is very important to protect the data. Loosing the data from a defective disk can be extremely expensive. With mirroring, big amount of data is protected against disk defects.
The LMP DataBox 270 has hot-swap and instand rebuilt functions. A defective harddisk can be replaced while the system is running (no interruption). After inserting a new drive, data is automatically rebuilt in the background. LMP DataBox 270 are pre-configured and plug&play systems with 160-180 MB/s with USB 3.0 and eSATA. LMP DataBox 270 systems come in an elegant and compact aluminum enclosure with a silent fan suitable for desktop solutions.
The DataBox 270 is a performant 2-bay RAID System with support for RAID Level 0 (striping) and 1 (mirroring). The front display informs you about the system and the rebuild status. The LEDs indicate hard disk access, power status and alarm in case of errors. The integrated "Bad Block" feature recognizes defective sectors on the HDD before the rebuild process starts. The RAID system is equipped with a high-speed USB 3.0 interface, which of course is compatible to USB 2.0. Through the stylish aluminum design and the silent fan it is perfect for desktop use. The RAID is suitable for 24/7 operation.

Besides data mirroring the LMP DataBox 270 can be used for data backup! For this purpose we offer a LMP DataBox 270 Mirror & Backup bundle. For data backup the autorebuilt function of the LMP DataBox 270 is used:
  1. Manually take out one harddisk of the LMP DataBox 270 system. This harddisk contains bit-by-bit a copy of all data since this is the mirrored harddisk.
  2. Insert the reserve harddisk. The autorebuilt function starts automatically. With around 350-400 GB/h, the data rebuilt of a 4 TB systems takes 10 hours (usually done in the night, the systems can also be used during rebuild).
  3. The harddisk which was taken out goes in the portective bag to a secure place (vault, different location, at home) and contains a backup of all data. No time loss for a backup procedure. The LMP DataBox 270 Mirror & Backup bundle has a total of four harddisks of which two are backup hard disks.
